We live in a generation that is resigned to wait for the return of the Lord, leading to a malaise within the church. Much of the lack of energy within the church comes from a newspaper eschatology designed to keep the average believer fixed on the temple mount rather then Jesus. Moreover, while the church hasn't been focused on the Living Word of God there seems to be a famine in the land of God's Word in the West just as in the time of Amos. (Amos 8:11) Nevertheless, just like the time of Amos there is a remnant desiring to take part in a time of restoration, a time of revival. A time by which a remnant of Christians believe in the healing brought about by God's Word, the reconciliation and regeneration found in the Gospel, as well as Jesus' command for all of His disciples to go into the world and make disciples of men.
The heart of the Great Commission is for all believers to take back the lost ground that Satan usurped from Adam. Moreover, we trust that the Spirit of Jesus will empower all believers to take part in building His church. So that, we as little stones grow into a Holy Temple in the Lord. Being empowered by grace and the Holy Spirit we should never shrink back from the world and the devil but fix our minds on the hope set before us as we live for Christ, and bring Him glory during the short time we have been given on this earth. For as the apostle Paul says; to live is Christ to die is gain. Therefore, we at The Covering Church believe that God is always starting something new and He empowers those who trust in His sovereign hand to bring about His promises for the church found in the New Testament. Finally, even though TCC is a non-denominational church, we are a confessional church holding to the teachings found in the 1689 London Baptist Confession, believing that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe by faith.
